On the same day, Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Maharashtra, labeling them a "double blunder" instead of the "double engine" government, after reports of the Vande Bharat train being diverted.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister shared the news on his official X handle, commenting, “Rasta bhatak gayi Vande Bharat – jana tha Goa, nikal gayi Kalyan (Vande Bharat lost its way – was supposed to go to Goa but ended up in Kalyan)."

The Railways explained the reason for the diversion, stating, “The train was diverted due to some problem on the route. The train left from its scheduled station i.e. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai and reached the pre-determined station i.e. Madgaon."

Disruption Caused by Technical Glitch

The Goa-bound Vande Bharat train was diverted from its planned route due to a technical issue. As reported by news agency PTI, the train experienced a delay of 90 minutes on Monday morning.

Officials explained that the train was redirected from its original path due to a technical fault at Diva station in Thane, Maharashtra. The train was rerouted to the Kalyan line instead of its intended route to Panvel station on the Diva-Panvel railway line.

Swapnil Nila, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, confirmed that the incident was caused by a failure in the signalling and telecommunications system.
