Parakram Diwas: A Call to Empower India's Future

Introduction

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address at the Parakram Diwas celebrations at the historic Red Fort resonated with a vision for India's future grounded in the legacy of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. As the nation commemorated Bose's 127th birth anniversary, Modiji articulated a roadmap for India's progress, emphasizing the transition from individual pursuits to collective national duty.

Embracing Rashtra Kaaj

PM Modi's speech echoed his earlier exhortation at the Pran Pratishtha, urging citizens to prioritize 'Rashtra Kaaj' over 'Ram Kaaj'  (from Ram’s work to nation’s work). Against the backdrop of the recent Ram temple inauguration in Ayodhya, he highlighted the need for India to fulfill global expectations by dedicating itself to national endeavors.

Socio-Economic Transformation

In the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy and other ministers, Modiji celebrated India's socio-economic achievements over the past decade. He proudly announced that approximately 25 crore Indians had risen out of poverty, demonstrating India's capability to achieve unprecedented goals.

"Our aim is to make India a developed nation by the year 2047. Our goal is to make India economically prosperous, culturally strong, and strategically capable," Modiji affirmed, setting a target for India to become the world's third-largest economic power within the next five years.

Defence Self-Reliance and Global Engagement

PM Modi emphasized India's transition from being the world's largest defence importer to one of the largest defence exporters, attributing this success to the creation of a vibrant domestic defence industry. He highlighted India's role as a 'Vishwa Mitra '- a friend to the world, actively engaging with the global community to provide solutions to pressing global challenges while safeguarding national interests.

Reflecting on India's journey towards defense self-reliance, Modji emphasized the prohibition of hundreds of ammunition and equipment, coupled with the creation of a vibrant domestic defense industry. He reiterated India's commitment to safeguarding national security while fostering global peace.

Preserving Netaji's Ideals

The Prime Minister lamented the post-independence dilution of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's ideology, citing the infiltration of nepotism and favoritism into Indian democracy. He underscored the importance of honoring Bose's contributions and combating societal inequalities that hindered India's progress.

PM Modi paid homage to Netaji's legacy by announcing various initiatives, including the establishment of his statue on Kartavya Path and the renaming of islands in Andaman & Nicobar. He highlighted the government's efforts to honor Bose's contributions, acknowledging the importance of preserving India's rich historical heritage.

He highlighted legislative reforms and policies aimed at promoting gender equality and youth participation in governance, emphasizing the spirit of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' since 2014.

The Prime Minister highlighted the growing confidence among women in India regarding the government's attentiveness to their smallest needs, citing the long-awaited passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He emphasized that the present era presents an opportunity to exhibit courage and reshape the nation's political landscape.

"Both youth power and Nari Shakti hold significant potential in reshaping the politics of a developed India. Your collective strength can serve as a catalyst in purging the political system of nepotism and corruption," the Prime Minister stressed, urging citizens to bravely confront these malaises in politics.

Strengthening India's Democracy:

Modiji underscored the importance of strengthening India's political democracy, lamenting the infiltration of nepotism and favoritism into Indian democracy. He emphasized the need for inclusive policies and equitable opportunities for all sections of society.

Recalling the historic significance of the Indian National Army (INA) and Netaji's unwavering determination, Modi emphasized India's resilience in confronting challenges and projecting its democratic values globally. He stressed the importance of strengthening India's political democracy and combating the evils.

Building a Resilient India

Modiji underscored the importance of dedicating every moment to national interests, urging citizens to work hard and be brave in building a resilient and empowered India. He emphasized the significance of Parakram Diwas in inspiring future generations to uphold the values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.

Charting India's Trajectory: Building a Viksit Bharat

In concluding his address, Prime Minister Modi underscored the importance of collective action in shaping India's future. He urged citizens to dedicate themselves to the nation's cause and embrace the spirit of courage and determination. Parakram Diwas, he emphasized, serves as a reminder of India's resilience and resolve, inspiring future generations to chart a path towards progress and prosperity.

The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, Ministers of State Meenakshi Lekhi, Arjun Meghwal, and Ajay Bhatt, along with Chairman of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose INA Trust Brigadier (Retd) R S Chikara, among others.
