Over 1.21 Lakh Devotees Receive Ayush Services at Mahakumbh

Over 1.21 lakh devotees have benefitted from Ayush services at the Maha Kumbh, with facilities set up by the Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with the National Ayush Mission, Uttar Pradesh.


The Ayush OPDs, clinics, stalls, and sessions are becoming major attractions for both devotees and visitors at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.

In partnership with the National Ayush Mission, Uttar Pradesh, the Ministry of Ayush has provided a variety of services at the grand festival, offering free healthcare to both domestic and international attendees, as stated in a ministry release.


An Ayush team of 80 doctors is stationed at 20 OPDs, offering 24/7 medical services for a wide range of common and chronic ailments.


Foreign devotees are also availing themselves of Ayush services, including OPD consultations, according to the statement.


Additionally, daily therapeutic yoga sessions are being conducted at designated camps in the Sangam area and Sector-8, led by trainers from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of Ayush, Delhi.


The growing participation of international devotees in these sessions underscores the increasing trust and interest in Ayush services among both local and global communities, the statement added.


Dr. Akhilesh Singh, the Ayush Nodal Officer at Mahakumbh, stated, “Our team not only treats patients but also informs them about the economic potential of medicinal plants. cultivation, we aim to create a source of livelihood for people alongside improving their health.” At the Mahakumbh, the Ayush team has organized the free distribution of medicines, such as immunity boosters and calcium tablets, he mentioned.


The Ministry of Ayush continues its efforts to prioritize the health of the elderly, with the Ayush team at Mahakumbh committed to supporting and providing Ayush services to senior citizens, according to the statement.


So far, 45 percent of the beneficiaries are elderly. Informative pamphlets on common ailments and their Ayush-based remedies are also being distributed.
