Major Objectives and Achievements
PSLV-C60 Mission Achieves Success: On December 30, 2024, the PSLV-C60 mission successfully deployed the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) satellites into orbit, culminating in India’s first in-orbit docking achievement on January 16, 2025.
PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM-4): Following deployment, the fourth stage of the PSLV carried 24 payloads, featuring ISRO’s robotic manipulators and experiments related to crop germination in space. Additionally, Indian startups such as Manastu Space and Bellatrix Aerospace showcased their green propulsion technologies and satellite maneuvering capabilities.
Progress in Space Science and Technology
Aditya-L1 Mission Progress: One year after its launch, the Aditya-L1 mission released valuable data that enhances research on the Sun’s effects on the solar system.
Approval for Third Launch Pad: The government sanctioned a ₹4.86 crore project to construct a new launch pad at Sriharikota, aimed at supporting human spaceflight and the Next-Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV).
Vikas Engine Advancement: ISRO successfully tested the restart and stop-start functionalities of the Vikas engine, a key component for reusable rocket stages.
International Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement
Private Sector Expansion: Companies such as Pixxel Space introduced hyperspectral satellites, while Digantara and XDLINN Labs played key roles in space situational awareness and communications.
SpaceX Transporter-12 Involvement: Indian startups leveraged SpaceX launches to deploy cutting-edge payloads.
In 2025, ISRO's progress highlights India's expanding expertise in human spaceflight, satellite technology, and sustainable space exploration.
