India's Rise as a Global Power: PM Modi Speaks at SOUL Conclave with Bhutan PM in Attendance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Friday that India is emerging as a global powerhouse. He expressed hope that the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) will nurture exceptional leaders who will excel in various fields. Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay was also present at the event.

Modi made these remarks while inaugurating the first edition of the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) Conclave at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.
Highlighting the significance of SOUL, he described it as a crucial step in the journey towards "Viksit Bharat," emphasizing that developing responsible citizens is key to nation-building.
He further stated that every Indian today is contributing to the vision of a developed India in the 21st century and underscored the need for outstanding leadership across all sectors and spheres of life.
He said, “Today every Indian is working day and night for Viksit Bharat of the 21st century. In such a situation, even in the country of 140 million, we need best leadership in every sector, in every vertical, in every aspect of life and not just political leadership.”
The SOUL Leadership Conclave, a two-day event taking place from February 21-22, will unite leaders from diverse sectors such as politics, sports, arts, media, spirituality, business, and public policy. These experts will share their experiences and perspectives on leadership.
Designed to foster collaboration and learning, the conclave will showcase both triumphs and setbacks to inspire young audiences. Organized by the School of Ultimate Leadership, a newly established institute in Gujarat, the event aims to cultivate authentic leaders dedicated to serving the public good.
Bhutan's PM Honors 'Mentor' PM Narendra Modi with Praise
Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, on Friday, referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as his "elder brother" and "mentor" while commending him and lauding initiatives like Make in India, calling them Modi’s “gifts to the nation.”
Speaking at the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) conclave, Tobgay highlighted the strong bond between Bhutan and India, emphasizing their “deep spiritual ties” and shared beliefs, including a profound reverence for the Bodhisattvas, as reported by PTI.
Acknowledging the praise, PM Modi responded with folded hands. Following Tobgay’s speech, Modi warmly shook hands with him, embraced him, and affectionately addressed him as “My brother.”

The Bhutanese Prime Minister noted that the king has repeatedly advocated for public service reform in his own country and added, “I seek your personal guidance to help me contribute to transforming our public service, to make it enlightened, to make it entrepreneurial, to make it useful.”
Bhutan's Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, expressed gratitude for the steadfast support and generosity extended by the people of India.
Discussing Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City project, Tobgay encouraged Indians to visit the initiative.
He concluded his speech with a heartfelt 'thank you,' 'Jai Hind,' and a traditional Bhutanese expression, as reported by PTI.
