Agenda Highlights

A key highlight of the visit will be a working lunch hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 8, where he and the Crown Prince are expected to hold comprehensive discussions. The agenda spans a broad spectrum—from strengthening trade and energy ties to advancing digital cooperation and fostering cultural exchange. Reports suggest that both leaders will also delve into new investment avenues, particularly within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which has already led to a significant surge in trade since its launch.

Beyond his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Crown Prince will also hold separate discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. After completing his official engagements in the capital, Sheikh Hamdan is scheduled to travel to Mumbai from April 8 to 9. There, he will attend a business roundtable featuring prominent Indian and Emirati business figures.

As India continues its rapid economic growth and the UAE maintains its role as a global trade and logistics hub, enhancing bilateral trade remains a priority. During his visit, the Crown Prince is expected to meet with influential Indian business leaders and policymakers to explore:

  • Scaling up bilateral trade, which exceeded $85 billion in 2023–24.

  • Increasing UAE investments in India’s infrastructure, especially in sectors like renewable energy, ports, logistics, and smart cities.

  • Fostering start-up collaborations between Indian entrepreneurs and Dubai-based investors.

  • Expanding cooperation in technology and innovation.

Strengthening Bonds: How This Visit Will Enhance India-UAE Relations

The India-UAE relationship has grown beyond traditional trade, blossoming into a comprehensive strategic partnership grounded in mutual respect, economic collaboration, and a shared vision for global affairs. Prime Minister Modi’s regular interactions with UAE leaders, along with the UAE’s consistent support for India on global platforms, highlight the deepening trust between the two nations.

This visit follows India’s recent engagements with several global leaders, underscoring its rising diplomatic profile. The Crown Prince’s arrival is anticipated to unlock new opportunities in economic diplomacy and inject fresh energy into bilateral ties. As both countries pursue a broad-based strategic agenda, today’s talks could pave the way for next-generation collaborations that not only strengthen their bond but also foster regional stability and global development.
