He emphasized India's role as a voice for the Global South, a driver of global economic growth, and a hub for technological innovation. He hailed the presence of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, considering it a symbol of the deepening ties between India and the UAE.


PM Modi highlighted the significance of the current Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, marking the beginning of India's "Amrit Kaal" – a period focused on achieving development goals over the next 25 years. He underlined India's ambition to become a developed nation by its 100th year of independence and emphasized the importance of global partnerships in this journey.


He remarked that the participation of representatives from over 100 countries in the Summit signifies their crucial role as partners in India's development trajectory. The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, themed 'Gateway to the Future', spans from January 10-12 in Gandhinagar and celebrates "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success", a testament to its inception under PM Modi's leadership in 2003 during his tenure as the state's chief minister.


Thematic Focus

The summit, themed 'Gateway to the Future,' showcased India's commitment to sustainable industry, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Modi highlighted the transformative impact of government policies, particularly in fostering a digital revolution and enhancing the standard of living for millions. Notable achievements include lifting over 13.5 crore people out of poverty in the last decade, increasing middle-class incomes, and boosting women's participation in the workforce.


Infrastructure and Technological Advancements

Infrastructure expansion took center stage, with significant advancements in airports, national highways, and the metro train network. Modi's address emphasized India's emergence as a technology hub, focusing on AI, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and semiconductor production.

Major agreements were inked, including Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd's memorandum for 10,000 MW of hybrid renewable energy projects and NTPC Green Energy Limited's commitments to green hydrogen mobility.



Global Confidence in GIFT City

Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority's commitment to establishing a presence in GIFT City marked a significant milestone, showcasing global confidence in India's flagship project. Notable commitments from ONGC Videsh, Wipro, the Transworld Group, and Accenture underscored GIFT City's growing prominence as a financial and technological hub. From 2019 to 2023, Gujarat attracted around $34 billion in foreign investments, positioning itself as the third-highest recipient among Indian states. Maharashtra, home to the financial center Mumbai, and Karnataka, recognized as India's Silicon Valley with its capital Bengaluru, claimed the top two spots in foreign investment attraction during the corresponding period.


Inclusivity Efforts and Grassroots Development

The summit's inclusivity efforts extended to smaller towns in Gujarat, aiming to integrate micro and small-scale industries into the event. Memorandums of Understanding amounting to Rs 35,000 crore were signed during pre-event conferences, creating employment opportunities for thousands.
