On Tuesday, November 5th, the Hindu community in Hazari Goli, Chittagong, Bangladesh, was subjected to an attack by police and law enforcement authorities.
Reports indicate that local Hindus had staged a protest against Osman Mollah, a trader who had made offensive remarks about ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) and Sanatan Dharma. In response to his actions, members of the Hindu community gathered outside his shop to express their anger. Rather than taking legal action against Mollah, law enforcement placed him in "safe custody."

Joint team of police and army attack Hindus in Hazari goli, Chittagong | OpIndia
Eyewitnesses in Hazari Goli shared disturbing footage of a joint operation by police and military personnel targeting the Hindu community. To justify their violent crackdown, authorities accused the Hindus of attacking them with bricks and acid.
At least five Hindus were injured when the combined forces of the army and police used batons during the attack. Around 30 members of the community were also detained.
In a chilling video, law enforcement officers were seen destroying CCTV cameras, likely to erase evidence of their actions against the Hindu community.
The violence continued well into Wednesday night, with frightened locals capturing videos of the joint police-military operation.
A Muslim group accuses a Hindu boy of ‘blasphemy’ and attempts to lynch him
On Monday, October 28th, a violent mob of Muslim protesters surrounded the Kadirdi Degree College in Boalmari, Faridpur district, Bangladesh, accusing a Hindu student of 'insulting' Prophet Muhammad.
The student, identified as Hridoy Pal, a Class XI student, was accused of committing blasphemy via a Facebook post. A group of madrassa students gathered outside the college, demanding that the administration hand over the accused.
Hridoy Pal was called into the principal's office for questioning, where he clarified that he did not own a mobile phone. He also explained that the post in question had been made from a hacked account two years earlier. Despite this, the mob surrounded the principal’s office, causing damage to motorcycles and other school property.
Upon hearing of the situation, the Officer-in-charge of the Boalmari police station arrived at the scene, accompanied by local political leaders, in an attempt to calm the radical crowd. The army was later called in to prevent further violence, and they took Hridoy Pal into their custody.
A disturbing video surfaced showing the blindfolded student being dragged by army officials. The footage also showed some individuals slapping Hridoy Pal and encouraging others to attack him, with one army official seen beating him with a stick. The mob reportedly hurled stones and shoes at the army personnel as they escorted the student to the army camp.
Assault on Hindus in the name of 'blasphemy'
In September of this year, OpIndia reported that a Hindu boy named Utsab Mandal narrowly escaped being lynched by a Muslim mob in the Sonadanga residential area of Khulna city, following accusations of 'blasphemy.'
Later that same month, another enraged Muslim mob surrounded the Patiya police station in Chittagong district, demanding the police surrender a Hindu boy who was accused of 'insulting' Prophet Muhammad.
The mob, largely made up of local madrassa students, also attacked an army vehicle after mistaking a young boy in civilian clothes for the Hindu accused. During the attack, an army official was injured.
A 22-year-old Hindu man, Partha Biswas Pintu, was subsequently arrested on charges of 'blasphemy.'
