Are Pakistani Hindus not human beings? Why am I saying this? Well, the kind of laxity human rights organisations across the globe have shown towards the plight of Hindu population in Pakistan makes us feel that Pakistani Hindus are not human beings. Every year, thousands of Hindus are either butchered or forced to convert. The persecution of Hindus has been going on for decades but human rights organisations only seem to turn a blind eye upon them. Pakistani Hindus have nowhere to go except India. This is why India has witnessed an influx of thousands of Pakistani Hindus in recent years.
Here are some heartbreaking tales of Pakistani Hindus which raises a question on the deep seated apathy of Pakistani government towards its Hindu citizens. How painful it must be for a father to see her daughter getting kidnapped, raped and then converted forcefully to Islam. This has become a norm in Pakistan, everyday Hindu girls are kidnapped, raped and then forced by the rapist to marry him and convert to Islam. But no international outcry, no human rights activism from any corner of the world. This deafening silence of so-called human rights activists is only bringing out their hypocrisy.
PM Narendra Modi, with a strong RSS background understands this hypocrisy very well This is why he, along with his BJP government came up with the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in 2019. These hypocrite activists don’t seem to have any shame left. Rather than appreciating the much needed act offering citizenship to persecuted minorities, these white sepulchres went on to condemn the act as it didn’t include Muslims.
The whole idea of an Islamic nation for Muslims seems to be failing here. Lest why would there be hullabaloo on not including Muslims in CAA. Well, it’s quite evident that they are working with some clandestine agenda of altering the demography of India. There can be only two things, either these white sepulchres want the minorities of Pakistan to keep facing persecution or they want the Muslims of Pakistan to infiltrate in India and make parts of India Islamic.
Coming back to the tales of Pakistani Hindus who have taken shelters in different parts of India, we will talk about Delhi’s Nanak Sar where more than hundred families of Hindus from Pakistan’s Sindh province have taken refuge. In December 2020, I visited the place along with a couple of friends who wanted to do their bit for Pakistani Hindus. As it was winter, we took with us warm clothes, blankets and other helpful things. It is a settlement made in a deserted location where any person would not hang around on normal days. The place is full of dust with numerous problems including electricity, potable water.
This makes it a very difficult place to live a normal life. Still, they expressed their happiness living here rather than living in their houses in Pakistan. There were 100 odd huts. We asked a few young boys who shared their stories with us. Bharat, a 20 year old boy, told us that his family hailed from Sindh province. Irked by the lacklustre attitude of Pakistani authorities regarding the encroachment on their house, his family asked Bharat to settle in India along with his uncle. Bharat and his family members would get threats so that they didn’t approach the nearby police station. Even when they approached the nearby police station, the police inspectors didn’t pay heed to their requests. So, ultimately his parents found it better to sell off the properties rather than seeing it get encroached and getting nothing out of it.
After selling most of their properties at one-fifth the value, whatever money they received was shelled out to get a visa and passport to India. Bharat’s parents are living in Pakistan and are waiting for things to get better in India for them. Once the situation gets better here in India for them, his parents would also migrate to India, which for them is the only place which they can call safe for themselves. Bharat studies in a RSS run school and teaches kids younger than him in his leisure time.
There are women and girls in the settlement who narrate the horrible stories of rapes, molestation and conversion that happened to them on a regular basis there. A girl who didn’t wish to be named recounted how she had to bear the molestation at the age of 12 while going to her school. Few Pakistani boys would molest her daily on her route to a nearby school. Her parents were forced to not send her to school. She said Hindu parents are left with nothing but marrying their teenage girls as young as 13 so that neighborhood boys won’t kidnap, rape and convert them. However, getting married is not a guarantee that the Hindu girl would be protected from Muslim rapists and kidnappers.
Most of the Hindu families migrating to India are poor. To come here, they need to gather money and it is not an easy task for them as they are already struggling in Pakistan. Rich Hindu families have already settled in various countries. Most of the people come here on the pretext of visiting holy places and ultimately settle in India. Many people have migrated with their families, however some have half of their family members in India and unfortunately some are left in Pakistan. Those in Pakistan are doing everything they can to migrate to India. Pakistani Hindus send their daughters to their relatives in India so that the girls could get married and live a happy and safe life.
However, as discussed earlier, things are not hunky dory here. These families have to struggle for basic necessities. Even today, when we watch them, the images of nomadic societies start doing the rounds. There is a lack of potable water, toilets and health facilities. They struggle to get jobs just because they are Pakistanis.
Organisations such as RSS, Bajrang Dal, VHP and NMO are doing their bit to help their kids get admitted to government schools on the basis of their passports. BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar has on several occasions provided them with grains. Right wing people have tried their best to help them with employment. Now most of their youngsters can be found selling Mobile covers, packed water bottles, Kachodi and other such things near Khajuri Khas, Nanak Sar and Signature bridge road. RSS organises community marriages so that the Pakistani Hindu girls could get married on a minimum budget.
Even though India's 80% population is Hindus, Hindus are still in minority. There is not one country, which Hindu can call their own.
