Former Delhi CM and AAP chief has received notices from the Election Commission and a Haryana court for alleging that the BJP is poisoning Yamuna water to cause a mass massacre in Delhi. He claimed that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) detected the poison and prevented the contaminated water from reaching the city. However, the DJB, which operates under the Delhi government, has refuted these claims.

Despite this, Kejriwal continues to stand by his accusations. Today, he shared a doctored video targeting Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini. In the edited clip, Saini appears to take a sip from the Yamuna, but Kejriwal alleged that the act was staged and that the Haryana CM never actually drank the water.

Kejriwal alleged that Saini only pretended to drink water but then spat it back into the Yamuna. He added, “When I said that Yamuna water could be dangerous for the lives of Delhiites due to ammonia contamination, they threatened to file an FIR against me. They want to make the people of Delhi drink the same poisonous water which they themselves cannot drink. I will never let this happen.”

However, Kejriwal posted a clip from a longer video, which shows Haryana's Chief Minister drinking water from the Yamuna River. In the video shared by ANI, Nayab Singh Saini can be seen first taking a sip, then spitting it out, possibly to rinse his mouth. Shortly after, he took another sip, this time swallowing a substantial amount of water.

Reports indicate that Saini visited the Yamuna at Delhi's Palla Village, where he drank from the river to counter Kejriwal's claims of contamination.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal has claimed that the BJP threatened to file an FIR against him, but a complaint has already been filed at the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Sonipat, Haryana, with the BJP government requesting action. In response, the court has summoned Kejriwal to appear on February 17.

The Election Commission of India has also asked Kejriwal to provide evidence for his allegation that the BJP-led Haryana government poisoned Delhi's Yamuna water, following a complaint by the BJP.

Delhi Jal Board Responds

The Delhi Jal Board, which Mr. Kejriwal claimed had halted the alleged "poisonous" water from reaching the national capital, dismissed the AAP leader's statement. "These statements are factually incorrect, without any basis and misleading," Shilpa Shinde, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Delhi Jal Board, stated in a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary.

She also urged the Chief Secretary to raise the issue with the Delhi Lieutenant Governor in accordance with the Transaction of Business Rules.

"The matter is being brought to your attention, given the fact that such false statements lead to fear-mongering amongst city residents and also adversely impact relations with the upper riparian state of Haryana. Given that this matter is likely to affect inter-state relations, these facts may be brought to the attention of Lieutenant Governor in terms of the Transaction of Business Rules," the letter read.

PM Modi Criticizes AAP

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered the 'Yamuna water war' and criticized Arvind Kejriwal's "disgusting" allegation.

"They asked for votes on the Yamuna... but now they are being shameless about it. They want Delhi to beg for water. AAP has sinned for political gains. History will never forgive them... Delhi will never forgive them...Can BJP's Haryana's government poison the water the Prime Minister drinks?" PM Modi said.

Modiji remarked that Haryana would "never forget the insinuations" and added that the AAP's fear of defeat in next week's assembly election had caused them to become "unhinged."

"Don't people from Haryana live in Delhi? Can Haryana then poison Delhi's water? Even the PM drinks this water," the PM said.

Many other BJP leaders, including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, also criticized Mr. Kejriwal.
