National Security Advisor Ajit Doval engaged in bilateral discussions with US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Sunday to enhance intelligence sharing and security collaboration. Additionally, Doval presided over a global intelligence conclave, which was attended by senior security officials from various nations, including Canada and the UK.

India-US Dialogue on Security Cooperation
According to official sources cited by PTI, Doval and Gabbard had a "productive discussion" on intelligence sharing and strengthening collaboration in the security sector as part of the India-US strategic partnership. Their talks centered on countering terrorism, addressing emerging technology threats, and ensuring security in the Indo-Pacific region.
Gabbard arrived in New Delhi early Sunday for a two-and-a-half-day visit, marking her first high-level trip to India as a senior official in the Donald Trump administration.
Global intelligence meet in Delhi
India hosted a high-level conclave, bringing together intelligence chiefs from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and other allied nations. Although the discussions remained confidential, sources informed PTI that key topics included combating terror financing, money laundering, and extradition issues.
Additionally, the Indian delegation highlighted concerns about anti-India elements operating from abroad, including pro-Khalistan groups.
Gabbard's International Tour
Tulsi Gabbard is currently on a multi-nation tour, traveling to Japan, Thailand, and France. She is also set to speak at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday. This marks her second international visit since assuming the role of U.S. intelligence chief, following her trip to Germany last month for the Munich Security Conference.
In the previous month, Gabbard met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, intelligence officials at the conclave reportedly discussed global conflicts, including the Russia-Ukraine war and the situation in West Asia.
India-Canada Dispute Over Nijjar Case
Canadian spy chief Daniel Rogers’ visit to India comes at a time of heightened tensions between India and Canada over the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In September 2023, then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau suggested the 'potential' involvement of Indian agents in Nijjar’s death, a claim India firmly rejected as ‘absurd.’ Relations further deteriorated in October when Canada expelled several Indian diplomats, prompting India to reciprocate by removing Canadian diplomat Stewart Wheeler and five others. According to a PTI report, the issue is expected to be discussed during Rogers' meeting with Doval.
