After a Racist Rant Against Indians, Laura Loomer Turns to a Payment Platform Built by Indian Tech Founders

Following her racist and xenophobic outbursts against Indians, American far-right figure Laura Loomer posted a link to a donation platform, urging her followers to support her after being banned from Cash, Venmo, and PayPal.

In reply to an X user who inquired how they could donate to her, the conspiracy theorist, Ms. Loomer responded, “Big tech hates me. I’m Banned on Cash app, Venmo and PayPal because these people want to strangle me and have been subjecting me to their caste system for YEARS.”

After recognizing the opportunity to receive donations by capitalizing on the anti-India sentiment present among a small segment of American society, Ms. Loomer shared her Buy Me a Coffee link with her followers, encouraging them to financially support her in her battle against Big Tech.

However, much to her dismay, Buy Me a Coffee is a platform created by two Indian tech brothers—the same individuals she had been criticizing after the announcement of Sriram Krishnan's appointment as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

'Buy Me a Coffee' was established by Indian tech brothers Jijo Sunny and Joseph Sunny to offer creators an easy platform to receive payments and engage with their supporters. According to the website, “Buy Me a Coffee gives fans a meaningful way to express gratitude to creators. Creators can also offer exclusive content and community access for their biggest fans.”

Laura Loomer Launches Rant Against Indians Following Trump’s Appointment of Sriram Krishnan as Senior AI Policy Advisor

After U.S. President-elect Donald Trump announced Sriram Krishnan’s appointment as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, American journalist and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer initiated a series of online attacks against him.

Krishnan’s stance on removing the country cap for H1-B visas was misrepresented, falsely depicting him as favoring foreign skilled workers over American citizens. This misrepresentation fueled a targeted online campaign led by Loomer.

Loomer criticized Krishnan’s appointment as “disappointing,” questioning its alignment with the “America First” policy. She made disparaging remarks about Indians, referring to them as “third-world invaders” and asserting that the United States was founded by “white Europeans.” Additionally, she insulted Indian hygiene practices, stating, “If India was so highly skilled, people would stay there instead of flocking to the US.”

Her comments were met with widespread criticism. This incident exposed a contradiction within a portion of the American right wing that appreciates the talents of skilled Indians while resenting their presence.

In reply to an Indian immigrant’s post highlighting the contributions of skilled immigrants to America’s growth and criticizing figures like Loomer for damaging the nation’s competitive edge, Loomer responded with racist and baseless remarks that were detached from reality.

“Our country was built by white Europeans, actually. Not third world invaders from India. @Cloudwatch199 You know, it was white Europeans who created the American Dream, and we didn’t create it  so that it could be exploited by pro open border techies like you. PS: why are people in India still shitting in the water they bathe and drink from?  Don’t talk to me as an American citizen about INNOVATION when we actually have running water and indoor plumbing here in America. Perhaps you need to retake your American history class. Do the tech billionaires you work with in Silicon Valley even bother teaching their third world hires about AMERICAN history anymore?  Or are you only interested in your invader supremacist revisionist history?” she said.

Laura Loomer’s recent racist outburst targeting Sriram Krishnan specifically and Indians in general has drawn backing from like-minded racists while also sparking widespread condemnation across ideological lines, including within and beyond the American right wing. Her career has been largely defined by her history of racist and contentious remarks, making her a polarizing figure even within the far-right circles she aims to sway.

Laura Loomer’s "Curry" Remark Targeting Kamala Harris

Laura Loomer's socio-political commentary has consistently been marked by racist rhetoric, with one of her most egregious remarks targeting Vice President Kamala Harris for her Indian heritage. In September 2024, Loomer posted on X, claiming that if Kamala Harris were elected president, "the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call centre," a blatantly prejudiced reference to Harris's background.

Predictably, her statement was met with widespread condemnation. However, instead of issuing an apology, Loomer dismissed the backlash, insisting her comments were intended as humor or political satire.

Although Loomer portrays herself as a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and the Republican Party, her penchant for promoting conspiracy theories has repeatedly drawn criticism from party leaders. In September, Republican Senator Thom Tillis referred to Loomer as a "crazy conspiracy theorist."

“Laura Loomer is a crazy conspiracy theorist who regularly utters disgusting garbage intended to divide Republicans. A DNC plant couldn’t do a better job than she is doing to hurt President Trump’s chances of winning re-election. Enough,” Tillies said.

Expert in Racist Commentary, Defeated in Electoral Politics

Laura Loomer's foray into electoral politics highlights her ability to attract social media attention through divisive and racist rhetoric, but not to secure votes. In the 2020 Florida U.S. House of Representatives race, she ran as a Republican and was defeated. Two years later, she faced another loss in the Republican primary.

Is Laura Loomer Responsible for the “Haitian Cannibals” Claim?

During the September presidential debate, Donald Trump claimed that illegal immigrants from Haiti were consuming pets in an Ohio town, sparking a wave of memes on American social media. A day before the debate, Laura Loomer had posted on X, asserting that “cannibalistic Haitians are now killing people’s pets and hunting domestic animals on the streets of Ohio”.

“Disturbing reports came out this weekend about Haitian immigrants eating people’s pets in Ohio where Democrats like @SenSherrodBrown and the Biden-Harris regime imported over 20,000 cannibalistic Haitians who are now killing people’s pets and hunting domestic animals on the streets of Ohio.  Just a reminder that Ohio Democrat Senator @SenSherrodBrown voted to extend temporary protective status to Haitians and also voted AGAINST stopping the tax payer funded flights from Haiti to the US!!,” Loomer posted on X on 9th September 2024.

Laura Loomer and Her Numerous Conspiracy Theories

Just two days after US President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July, Loomer shared on X that he was close to death and had begun delegating some of his responsibilities to others. She claimed that “his time is limited” and that his family and staff “are holding on for dear life right now.”

“BIDEN IS DYING AND HAS STARTED QUIETLY DELEGATING HIS AUTHORITY AS PRESIDENT TO THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY AND THE SECRETARY OF STATE. In an act that is further evidence that Joe Biden @JoeBiden is dying and @KamalaHarris will be President soon, today while everyone was distracted by the @GOPoversight hearing with @SecretService Director Kim Cheatle, and news of Joe Biden dropping out, today Biden started quietly delegating his authority as President of the United States to the Secretary of the Treasury and Secretary of State. Biden is dying, and he’s dying fast.  Get ready for President Kamala Harris! BOOKMARK THIS TWEET!” Loomer posted.

Loomer's X post was community-noted, which pointed out that there was nothing unusual in the texts she referenced, as this language is standard and has been used by the Trump White House and previous administrations.

Similarly, in July, she posted on social media alleging that President Biden had experienced a medical emergency after arriving at Andrews Base. However, reports indicated that Air Force One did not land at Joint Base Andrews, but instead at Delaware’s National Guard Base, where Biden was seen disembarking the plane on his own, saluting an officer, and responding to questions from journalists.

9/11 Attack: An 'Inside Job' Theory

Laura Loomer has also promoted the conspiracy theory that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job," a claim that has been widely debunked but continues to be spread by her.

Her remarks inadvertently offered a form of validation to extremists like Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, who orchestrated the attack. This sparked criticism, especially when she was seen with Trump at 9/11 memorial events.

COVID: A 'Scam'?

Laura Loomer promoted anti-vaccine propaganda and conspiracy theories regarding the coronavirus, labeling the pandemic a "scam" and claiming that health measures were part of a broader control strategy by the Biden administration. Ironically, despite dismissing COVID as a mere 'scam' and expressing a desire to contract the virus to “prove to people” that even food poisoning deaths were more severe, Loomer tested positive for COVID in September 2021 and experienced intense body aches and nausea.

QAnon Supporters Backed Loomer

Loomer has expressed support for QAnon, a conspiracy theory claiming that elites are involved in child trafficking and Satanic rituals. While she has not fully embraced all of QAnon’s beliefs, her rhetoric and actions align with many elements of the conspiracy, especially her accusations against political and media elites.

When Laura Loomer Disrupted the Julius Caesar Play and Was Arrested

In June 2017, Laura Loomer gained attention when she interrupted a production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park in New York City. The production drew criticism for portraying Julius Caesar as a figure resembling Donald Trump, who is assassinated in a manner echoing Trump’s depiction on stage.

Loomer was swiftly removed from the stage by security and arrested by the NYPD on charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. She was released later that night and instructed to appear in court at a later date.

Social Media Bans and Laura Loomer's Controversial Stunts

In 2018, Laura Loomer handcuffed herself to Twitter's New York City headquarters to protest her ban from the platform. Reports stated that she chained herself to the building's front door, blocking the entrance in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, while live-streaming the protest on Periscope. During the broadcast, Loomer was seen wearing a yellow Star of David on her chest, similar to the symbols European Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust, along with a hoodie displaying the hashtag "#STOPTHEBIAS." Loomer had been banned after alleging that U.S. Senator Ilhan Omar was anti-Semitic and pro-Sharia law.

Although Loomer has garnered support from conspiracy theorists and racist groups, her inflammatory and anti-Indian rhetoric has drawn widespread criticism from across the political spectrum. Her divisive comments have often led Republican leaders to engage in damage control, as her actions and statements tend to harm the party rather than help it. In this regard, Laura Loomer may have become the equivalent of Mani Shankar Aiyar within the MAGA movement.
