A 120-year-old Shiva temple has been discovered in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, following similar findings in Sambhal, Varanasi, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr. Located in Aurangabad village within the Musafirkhana police station area, the temple is alleged to have been illegally occupied by local Muslims. A formal complaint requesting action has been submitted to the SDM, who has subsequently assigned the investigation to the Tehsildar.

Local Hindus claim that the 120-year-old Pancha Shikhar Shiva Temple has been unlawfully occupied by the Muslim community, who have also prevented worship at the site for the past 20 years.

According to villagers, the temple was founded by a Dalit family about 120 years ago and has since been a significant place of faith for the local community. However, for many years now, Hindus have been barred from performing pooja rituals inside the temple, leading to frustration among the villagers. On Monday, BJP District General Secretary Atul Singh, along with other villagers, submitted a complaint letter to SDM Preeti Tiwari, requesting action.

SDM Preeti Tiwari stated that the matter has been handed over to the Tehsildar for investigation. Further action will be taken once the investigation report is received.

Uttar Pradesh: Devotees Offer Puja at Newly Discovered Hindu Temple in Aligarh

Devotees conducted puja at a newly discovered Hindu temple in Aligarh, which was recently restored after years of neglect. Activists have initiated a campaign to identify and revive similar temples.

Speaking to ANI on Friday, an activist said, “In the past riots, Hindus from this area fled, leaving this temple neglected. We’re now conducting a campaign to identify such temples. This is the second temple. Cleaning and worship have been performed today in this temple.”

Another activist told ANI, “Yesterday this place was cleaned and in the same sequence today, Hanuman Chalisa was recited and Hanuman’s Aarti was performed. We will also ensure that every day people of Sanatan Dharma take care of this temple and come here to perform the puja and rituals.”

As a precautionary measure, police forces have been stationed outside the temple premises.

On December 20, prayer rituals took place at the Shiv-Hanuman temple in Sambhal. The temple, which had remained closed since 1978, was reopened on December 14 following the efforts of the local administration.

The temple was uncovered during an anti-encroachment drive led by the district police and local authorities.

During restoration work, three idols were discovered near a well close to the temple. These idols are now being preserved as part of the temple’s restoration to its original grandeur.

On December 18, Geeta Pradhan, former member of Uttar Pradesh’s Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission and a BJP leader, visited the temple to offer her prayers.

On December 15, Sambhal’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishan Kumar and District Magistrate (DM) Rajender Pensiya also visited the newly uncovered Shiv-Hanuman Temple to offer their prayers.

Vishnu Sharan Rastogi, patron of the Nagar Hindu Sabha, confirmed the temple’s reopening after 46 years, explaining that the closure had been due to the absence of a resident priest.

Radha Krishna Temple Discovered and Reopened in Muslim-Dominated Sarai Tarin Area, Following Shiv-Hanuman Temple

A Radha-Krishna Temple, abandoned for years, was recently rediscovered and reopened in the Muslim-majority Sarai Tarin area of Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. This discovery follows the reopening of a Shiv-Hanuman temple for the first time since 1978. On December 17th, the police reopened the Radha-Krishna Temple and found idols of Lord Krishna, Goddess Radha, and Lord Hanuman. Restoration and cleaning efforts have already begun at the site.

The temple had once been surrounded by Hindu families who had since migrated. After receiving information about the abandoned temple, the police investigated and reopened it, finding no signs of illegal encroachment.

This discovery follows the reopening of the Shiv-Hanuman temple on December 14th. The police have secured the area and are in the process of safeguarding the idols. Additionally, arrangements have been made for devotees to perform Darshan and Puja at the newly reopened temple. Several Hindu idols were also recovered from a well near the Shiv temple.

An ongoing anti-encroachment campaign in Sambhal has targeted large areas that have been illegally occupied for decades. These areas, densely populated with mosques and colonies, have been plagued by issues such as rampant electricity theft. The administration is working to clear these encroachments, and the Shiv-Hanuman temple was uncovered as part of this drive, hidden by illegal structures on all sides.
